Fitting A Lever Door Handle

This short video shows you how to fit and renew the spring on a lever style door handle.
Fitting a lever door handle. Installing a door handle is a relatively easy diy project. The most common type of door handle is the lever latch or latch door handle on a backplate found in residential houses and commercial and public buildings. The door handle has only a lever handle or knob which operates this latch. First take out the old door handle assembly by unscrewing the two screws that secure the assembly.
Step 1 start replacing door handle assembly. Doors fitted with this handle have a latch that keeps the door shut. Turn each screw several times apiece alternating to stop one screw from binding by being removed further than the other one. Put your tape measure on the floor in front of your door and measure up 41 inches from the floor since this is the most common placement for door handles.
Use masking tape to secure the door handle kit s template to the door at this spot.
